Design decisions, the ones we got wrong first, and what we changed.

A seventh-grader's math gap is often in grade four
Placing a child by their school year assumes the year taught them. When a seventh-grader is stuck, the skill that is actually missing is frequently several grades below. We built a placement check to find it, then took it out: its accuracy was only ever simulated. Here is what Radlic does instead.

A camera claim you can check
A promise not to upload video is weaker than an app that cannot open a camera. Radlic removed its camera chapters, and a Permissions-Policy header the build tests now makes the browser refuse the camera — here is how to check the same of any app.

A child should never see their level
Showing a child a difficulty level, a rank or a score turns learning into a verdict. Adaptive software can move the difficulty without ever naming it — here is how we do it, and what breaks when you get it wrong.
